How Pay Now works

The typical payment flow:

1. Client opens their portal and navigates to invoices
2. Client selects one or more invoices to pay
3. Client clicks Pay Now and completes payment through your connected provider
4. Payment result is recorded — confirming the transaction outcome

Clients pay from within the portal experience they already use for documents and communication.

Supported payment providers

Pay Now works when you connect a supported payment provider. Confirmed providers include:

• Stripe
• Peach Payments

Payment integration must be configured in your Portal Genie account before clients can pay through the portal.

Invoices from your accounting software

Invoices surfaced from Xero, QuickBooks Online or Sage Business Cloud appear in your Client Portal and can be selected for payment when Pay Now is enabled.

Client invoice payments vs your subscription

Pay Now handles client invoice payments — money your clients pay to your business through the portal.

This is separate from your Portal Genie subscription billing — the monthly fee your business pays for the platform.
