Customising Your Client Portal

Your Client Portal should feel like an extension of your business — not a generic third-party tool.

The Portal Genie gives you practical customisation options so clients see your brand, find documents easily and stay informed through your Notice Board.

Branding and presentation

Apply your business identity across the portal:

• Logo — display your company logo prominently
• Brand colours — match your existing brand palette
• Welcome messaging — greet clients with text that reflects your tone and service

On Pro, you can also remove The Portal Genie branding and use your own portal web address. See Brand the Client Portal as Your Own.

Folders and document organisation

Structure documents with standard accounting folders and custom folders you create. Control which folders are visible, their display order and which accept client uploads (Pro).

Document statuses and tags

Label documents with your own statuses so clients understand what action — if any — is needed. This reduces follow-up emails and keeps everyone aligned.

Notice Board

Use the Notice Board as your portal display space for announcements, promotions and seasonal reminders. Switch content as your business needs change.

Core vs Pro customisation

Core includes logo, brand colours, folder customisation, document statuses and the Notice Board — with a small "Brought to you by The Portal Genie" logo on the portal.

Pro adds your own portal domain, email domain, removal of Portal Genie branding and additional communication features.
