Notify Clients When New Documents Are Available

When you assign a new document to a client, they may not know to check their portal. New document notifications send an email alert so clients know something is waiting for them.

What new document notifications do

When enabled, clients receive an email notification when new documents are assigned and available in their Client Portal. The email directs them to log in and view the document.

This is an automatic notification tied to document assignment — not a scheduled marketing campaign.

When to use them

New document notifications are useful when:

• You share invoices or statements and want clients to know promptly
• You upload custom documents that require client action
• You want to reduce "I didn't know it was there" follow-ups

How this differs from scheduled campaigns

New document notifications are triggered when documents become available to a client.

Scheduled client email notifications (Pro) are planned campaigns you create — with custom subject lines, body content and send schedules, often targeting client groups.

Setting expectations with clients

Let clients know they will receive email alerts when documents are ready. Combined with your Client Portal Link on your website, this creates a clear pattern: documents arrive in the portal, clients are notified, and they log in to view them.
